Monitored the level of chlorine in the water systems of the communities of Mezcalito, Planes, Planes Naranjo, Mogola, Sisiguara, Llano Orcon Musula and found proper levels in all systems. Visited the community of Llano de San Antonio to repair the problem in the tablets chlorinator .Also was disinfected the system with chlorine and provided the community with 10 chlorine tablets so that water board can maintain the proper chlorine level in the system so that it can assure the water is safe for human consumption. ADEC was Training water boards of communities of Santa Rosita, Llano de San Antonio and La Chorrera on of rate calculation in coordination with the Red Cross of Marcala. Members of these communities were happy because they learned how to calculate the correct rate to be paid by each subscriber of their system to assure adequate funds are avaliable to sustain the operations.
Representatives of the Santa Catarine community water board traveled to communities served by ADEC to learn about ADEC’s technical assistance and tablet feed chlorination.. The water board requested that ADEC conduct a diagnosis of the water and decided to seek ADEC’s support to improve the quality of water consumed through the installation of the tablet feed chlorinators.
The community has 804 people who benefit from the water system and after the installation of the chlorinators ADEC circuit riders will continue to visit the community to assure the disinfection program is operating properly.
Monitoring is being done twice a week chlorine in the water treatment plant The Chiflador, benefiting a total of 18.138 inhabitants consume water quality in our city, the population is happy about the collaboration that is provided by IRWA ADEC and the role that technicians play.
This day I found 1.5 ppm / L of chlorine in the water and this is the right amount of residual chlorine in drinking water as recommended in the technical standard of Honduras.
