Update of Monitoring of Chlorine-La Vegona/Copán Ruinas

First update of monitoring of chlorine level in the Rotary Water Project / La Vegona / Copan Ruinas
Since its inaguration ADEC through the Cicuit Rider monitoring every month the chlorine levels in the Rotary water project in the community of La Vegona , the results below:
February 18 th…… 2.3 ppm
March 5 th……… 1.0 ppm
April 11th ………….. 1.0 ppm
May 14 th ………….. 2.0 ppm
June 6 th…………… 2.1 ppm
July 4 th……………. 1.1 ppm

The recommended minimum is 0.5 ppm,which indicates that the water is properly chlorinated.
Also in mid-July the Water Board started building the fence to protect the water storage tank which is a very important part of system maintenance.

On January 15, Francisco Villela of ADEC ,made monthly monitoring of chlorine in the water system of the community of La Vegona donated by Rotary Clubs of Fort Mill, Greenville, Simponville, Camden, SC and Stuart. Va (District 7750). Tthere was 0.8 ppm of chlorine indicating that the Water Board is working very well.

Hernán Amaya, Circuit Rider from Gracias/Lempira

May, 2013

– Two tablets chlorinators were installed in the communities of Poza Verde and Guanajulque, department of Lempira.

– A water meeting was held with the waters s of municipality of La Campa, department of Lempira to present the ADEC program

-ADEC provided training on Drinking Water Legislation and Administration of systems in the communities of Santa Cruz and Carrizal, department of Lempira.

-The chlorine in the water in the communities of El Carrizal, San Sebastián, Poza Verde, Guanajulque and Santa Cruz was monitored and recommended chlorine levels were found.

-2 visits to the Rotary Project of Santa Cruz / San Manuel Colohete were made, to oversee, buy and bring materials.


April, 2013

– Two tablets chlorinators were installed in the communities of San Marcos Caiquin and Azacualpa, department of Lempira

– Meeting was held with water board in municipality of San Sebastián, department of Lempira.

-ADEC provided training on Drinking Water Legislation and Water pollution forms in the communities of San Sebastián and Poza Verde, department of Lempira.

– A water meeting was held with the water board of Betania, department of Lempira to present the ADEC program

-The chlorine in the water in the communities of El Carrizal, San Sebastián and Santa Cruz was monitored and recommended chlorine levels were found.

-3 visits to the Rotary Project of Santa Cruz / San Manuel Colohete were made, to oversee, buy and bring materials

March 2013

– 11 water meetings were held with the boards in the municipalities of Belén and San Manuel Colohete, department of Lempira to present the ADEC program.

– 4 visits to Rotary Project of Santa Cruz / San Manuel Colohete were made, to oversee, buy  and bring materials.

February 2013

–  20 Diagnoses of water systems were made in the municipalities of Belén and San Manuel Colohete, department of Lempira.

– 20 quick water pollution tests were made in the municipalities of Belén and San Manuel Colohete, department of Lempira

-The chlorine in the water in the community of El Carrizal was monitored,  0.5 ppm of chlorine was found.

-3 visits to the Rotary Project of Santa Cruz / San Manuel Colohete were made, to oversee, buy and bring materials

– A tablet chlorinator was installed in the community of San Sebastian, department of Lempira

January 2013

-There was a tablet chlorinator installed in the community of El Carrizal, department of Lempira.

– ADEC provided training on Chlorination in the community of El Carrizal, department of Lempira.

– There were 4 diagnoses of water systems made in the municipality of Belén, department of Lempira.

– Meetings were held with three water boards in municipality of Belén, department of Lempira.

– 6 visits were made to the Rotary Project of Santa Cruz / San Manuel Colohete, to oversee, buy and bring materials.

Monitoring of Chlorine-El Granadillo / Nahuaterique-La Paz

On February 4, William and Elias of ADEC monitored the chlorine in the water system of the Granadillo / Nahuaterique, donated by the Florida Water Alliance, they found 1.8 ppm of chlorine in the water indicating that the water in the system is being properly chlorinated. They checked the chlorinator above the tank to ensure that there were sufficient chlorine tablets for the month.
