Updates Rotary Water Project-Agua Caliente/ Copan

Third Update
At April 3, 2014, the project is completed in 90%, source, sand remover, conductión line for new tank in high zone , aerial crossings, new tank, distribution line to low and high zone are completed,missing only installation of conduction line of new source for the tank of the lower area of the community of Agua Caliente that supplies water about 280 families.













Second Update

At January 28, 2014, the community has built about 90% of the storage tank .The conduction line from of the source to the new tank is done, only need to build the aerial crosses, the dam is built on 80%, in this date has started building the sand trap, and the distribution line in the low zone has built about 80%.

Pipes were delivered to begin the project of Agua Caliente/Copán Ruinas.

Project Proposal

Agua Caliente is a community of 2000 persons located near Copan Ruins. The community has grown over the years and does not have sufficient water to serve its existing population and 100 families are not connected to the system. The proposed project to connect to a new and more reliable water source is proposed as a joint Rotary project through the  Rotary Foundation, District 6900, Marietta-Metro and  East Cobb Rotary Clubs, have joined to gather to sponsor this project along with the Copan Ruinas Rotary Club. ADEC will provide technical assistance to the community to assure that the project is properly constructed and sustained.

Updates Water Project-Santa Cruz-San Manuel Colohete / Lempira

Project Closure
On November 19,  was closed the water project of Santa Cruz / San Manuel Colohete with the donation of Ceramic Filters to the 35 families in this community . With these filters being searched the protection from diseases such as diarrhea to approximately 200 people who live there The community thanked to donors for having improved their quality of life with the construction of the water system, latrines, sinks and filters.

Thirteenth  Update
On October 2, 2013 was the dedication of the water project in the community of Santa Cruz-San Manuel Colohete / Lempira, with the presence of donors Rotary club of USA, and Copán Ruinas . The community grateful the construction of the water system, their quality of life will improve, diseases like diarrhea will not affect the population especially children.It achieved the target of permanent drinking water supply and latrines to 100% of 40 families, about 200 people, also through ADEC will be conducted education health and hygiene to school and community and training to the Water Board for proper administration and maintenance of the water system.

Twelfth  Update
July 12, 2013, the draft Water and Sanitation Community Santa Cruz / San Manuel Colohete was successfully completed, 40 homes have been connected to the system, seven latrines were repaired and made ten new sanitary modules (stack and latrine), also ADEC trained the Water Board in administration and rates to ensure the sustainability at long term of water system.
The community of Santa Cruz are very happy and grateful with Rotary International Foundation, Districts 6970 Florida , 7750 South Carolina and Rotary Clubs of : Copán Ruinas from Honduras, Oceanside Jacksonville , South Jacksonville from Fl., Clinton ,Fort Mill, Indian Land ,Laurens from S.C. and the municipality of San Manuel Colohete who made this dream a reality.

Eleventh Update:On the 17th of May a protective wall was constructed at the conduction line. As well as sanitation units, consisting of sinks and latrines were constructed. A bucket of chlorine was given to the water board of Santa Cruz so that they could start chlorinating the water for their system.

Tenth Update:At April 22, was installed a Tablet Chlorinator and performed the first monitoring of chlorine in the water system of Santa Cruz, 35 micro water meters were installed, also has built the sink in the school, which makes happy the childrens.In May the community  begin to build latrines.
Ninth Update:at March 14, were installed floats valves in the pressure breaks tank , also have installed air valves and cleaning throughout the conduction line, Read More

La Vegona, Copan Ruinas

JULY 2012–ADEC circuit rider visited the community and found a proper level of chlorine in the system indicating the community water board continues to properly manage the system. Community members expressed their appreciation for the water system and washing station and latrine modulars.

The inauguration of the La Vegona water project took place on February 10, 2012 in the presence of donors, local authorities and the residents of the community.
