ADEC through its Health and Hygiene program in schools is promoting school gardens in this year is working with schools in the communities of Los Charcos, El Pastal, Mogola and Llano Largo, a total of 230 children are benefiting from a healthy diet, ADEC are implementing a new way of working where you are involving parents of children, which is producing excellent results also are benefited all family with the vegetables that are harvested in schools.
With a budget of just $ 50 you can sponsor school gardens to benefit more childrens.

Oneida Lara from ADEC, Sammy Declercq from the university college ‘Arteveldehogeschool’ and Sandra Lorena, healthcare volunteer, visited 15 families in the comunity of Fátima/Marcala to monitor the ceramic filters. They realized 15 quick tests on the absence/presence of fecal coliforms. 13 tests were negative, 2 of them positive. Oneida Lara also explained the healthcare volunteer how to properly monitor the filters to guarantee quality water in the community.
The student Sammy Declerq who is in the last year of studies in Social Work at University College Ghent Artevelde, is conducting his practice in ADEC, with the aim of acquiring skills to start as a social worker, Sammy and Oneida Lara of ADEC give training to childrens in rural schools in the municipality of Marcalan , Department of La Paz, on issues related to personal hygiene, importance of water quality for health, waste recycling and good use of the latrine.
